Sneak Peek of the All-Electric Maserati GranTurismo Folgore

GranTurismo Folgore

Lately it seems like electrified versions of well-known models are popping up left and right on the automotive market. And though most are wildly impressive, somehow seamlessly mastering quality performance with an eco-friendly alternative, there’s a select few that have quite literally made our jaws drop to the floor. From the Mercedes EQS to the Lotus Evija, there is something to be said about this next generation of all-electric luxury. When it comes to supercars, however, it’s hard to imagine these grand masterpieces without turbocharged V8’s packed inside. The all-new Maserati GranTurismo Folgore, the first-ever electric vehicle to grace Maserati’s lineup, is just another indication that we’re stepping into a remarkable future of manufacturing. One where electric and high-speed performance go hand in hand.

What’s there to know about the GranTurismo Folgore? Well, so far, not much.

With that said, this week we inched one step closer to learning more about this all-new luxury EV. On Thursday, Maserati released an official glimpse of the highly anticipated Folgore prototype to online viewers. In the video, head designer, Klaus Busse, drives the all-electric car with comedian, Sebastian Maniscalco, and chief communications officer, Maria Conti, in tow. They take a ride down California roadways to test out this exciting release.

Roaring in California with the Gran Turismo Folgore

After watching the video it’s clear to see that the 2024 GranTurismo Folgore is far from a downgrade, in terms of performance. As Maniscalco mentions, electric doesn’t always provoke the same notion of fun as you would get with a high-speed engine. However, the Folgore puts this concept to shame. Electric is most definitely fun, especially when integrated into an adorned supercar.

For now, not much has been revealed about the all-electric GranTurismo Folgore. But here’s a quick recap of what we do know:

Are you ready for the all-electric GranTurismo Folgore?

Even though the Folgore marks a new era for Maserati, there are plenty of design traits that carry on the history of those before it. Not counting power, the body style of the all-electric Folgore is very reminiscent of its predecessor, the GranTurismo. It also shares some design features, like its grille and headlights, with the Maserati MC20.

From what can be seem, Folgore, which means lightning in Italian, will be a nod to the iconic Maserati design that drivers know and love along with some key design changes that align well with the way of the future. While the GranTurismo Folgore remains camouflaged for now, we look forward to the official unveiling of this model and future updates on its performance and interior amenities as the time approaches.

We hope you enjoyed the video! Take a moment to share your thoughts on the first-ever electric Maserati. Are you looking forward to the debut of the 2024 GranTurismo Folgore as much as we are?
