How To Decorate Your Car For A Fourth of July Parade

Fourth of July 2021 is almost here! And nothing says freedom like an Independence Day parade. It’s time to break out the red, white, and blue decor and have a safe, fun-filled day of celebration. All it takes is a little bit of preparation and good friends and family nearby for your Fourth of July to be memorable.

To get your car freedom-ready, we’ve created a list of the best decorating tips below.

Fourth of July decorating tips

Before you begin transforming your car for the patriotic weekend, make sure it’s gotten a proper wash. You can choose to do an at-home car wash or take it for a quick spin through the gas station, just make sure all the dirt and pollen is removed beforehand. If you don’t wash your car prior, it could lead to scratches, or worse, unintentional damages from the Fourth of July decorations.

Parade float fringe

We know your car is not a typical parade float, but it sure can look like one once you add float fringe. This classic Fourth of July decoration can be found at your local party store. It also retails at a low cost for families on a budget. Attach the parade float fringe to the front end and bumper of your vehicle and you’ll be more than ready to ride through the parade this year.

Window decorations

Looking to get creative with your Independence-inspired designs? Try out window chalk or window markers. You can write some of your favorite patriotic sayings on your windows to amp up the freedom day feel.

Hint: Do not put window decorations in places that will obstruct your vision while driving. For example, avoid the front windshield.

Fourth of July bunting flags

Bunting flags are an American staple. Attach them beneath your windows so your vehicle can quickly turn into a red, white, and blue emblem. You can find these flags on Amazon or at a retail shop near you. Just remember to secure them tightly before driving.

Patriotic signs

Get the kids involved and create personalized patriotic signs! You can use paint, glitter, or just your basic markers to create noteworthy messages for your Fourth of July parade. The great thing about signs is you can decide to hold them out the window or attach them to your car with tape. Whatever option you feel more comfortable with. Indeed, this is one of the easiest ways to make a statement.

Balloons

Red, white, and blue balloons are an easy and economical choice for cars entering a Fourth of July parade this year. We recommend tying them to your side mirrors or attaching them to your bumper. Either way, make sure the balloon decorations don’t interfere with your driving and you’ll be Fourth of July ready!

Car Paint

Last but not least, try using car paint to create a memorable look for your Fourth of July celebrations. With a variety of colors available, you can get inspired by any patriotic design or images. Want your car to look like the American flag? Car paint will help you do that.

Reminder: Even though temporary car paint is often a safe option for Fourth of July decorations, we suggest choosing a brand that has good reviews. Basically, one that will leave little to no residue on your car.

Protect your vehicle when decorating for Fourth of July celebration

Although a Fourth of July parade is all about the fun, it’s vital to keep your car protected. We hope these awesome decorating tips help you get in the freedom spirit this year. The best part is you can do it yourself or with the help of friends and family. Just remember to stray away from decorations that will leave behind a costly repair bill.
