A Look at the All-New Polestar 3

Not so long ago, we first became fascinated by the Polestar brand for being perhaps the only true rival to Tesla. What we didn’t know then that we do now, is that another electric automaker could actually stand a chance against Tesla’s enigmatic hype. With two successful generations under their belt, the company has only growth in mind, with hope to 10 fold production by 2025. Apart from expansion, Polestar has made a pledge to set a higher standard for electric manufacturing. That promise will exclusively begin with the official production of the Polestar 3. We’ll give you a hint  it’ll be made in America!

Check out the exciting specs about the upcoming third generation model. Although we don’t have all the details yet, CEO Thomas Ingenlath gives a greater glimpse of what to expect.

Everything we know about the Polestar 3

In true automotive fashion, the Polestar 3 teaser revealed very little of the car’s actual design. In fact, the unveiling showed a camouflage wrap versus an exterior appearance. It hid any detail of the EV’s headlights, roof, and back end. With such little to see, there is one thing we noticed right away. The body shape of the third generation model is most comparable to a Jaguar I-Pace or Tesla Model X. In years past, Polestar has made a stance on separating it’s styling dynamics from that of Volvo. The third generation will surely achieve that.

What is the range of the Polestar 3?

The reported range is 310 miles per charge. CEO Thomas Ingenlath also announced that the anticipated SUV will be available in both two and four wheel drive with up to 637 hp. Similar to the 2 model, this gives drivers the option to fine tune their performance standards.

Where is production?

Production will happen in America, specifically at Volvo’s South Carolina plant. Ingenlath states, “Polestar 3 will be built in America, for our American customers.” In every essence, the company’s “coming to America” moment signifies big news for the young electric startup. While Polestar 1 and 2 served as their breakthrough into electric car sales, the 3 will become a valuable asset to their growth as automaker.

America, are you ready for the Polestar 3?

In the land of SUVs, the Polestar 3 will fit in just fine. The company’s decision to produce in Volvo’s South Carolina plant makes total sense if you look at America’s current green initiative. American consumers, many of which are gearing up for the electric integration, will be more inclined to buy the Polestar 3 if it’s close to home. Nonetheless, we can’t wait for this electric SUV to get into production. Stay tuned for further updates on the specs and performance of this highly-anticipated model.
