Hyundai Sales Increase by 12 Percent
The automotive market is one of the most competitive consumer markets on the globe, with a plethora of companies vying for the attention of consumers looking to upgrade their vehicles. It can be a cut-throat environment in which each company has to carve its niche to appeal to the correct client base. The successful automotive companies stand to make millions, but it can take years to make a profit. One of the most popular names in the vehicle market is Hyundai, and they have just announced that this year’s sales have increased by 12 percent, compared to the previous year’s sales.
Hyundai Defies Economic Pressures
Even with the rising cost of living globally, the Korean companies are on track for their best year to date. In August 2025, Hyundai’s sales numbers came to a successful 88,000 units, which is a 12 percent increase when compared to August 2024. The president and CEO of Hyundai, Randy Parker, is impressed with the momentum that his company has achieved and is excited that Hyundai is on track for its most successful year yet.
They have released record-breaking sales numbers for a number of their models, but it was the SUVs that were the big hitters. The SUV models selling well this year include the Ioniq 5 SUV, the Santa Fe, and the Palisade. But the SUV that has stolen the show is the 2025 Hyundai Tucson. This year, it has seen a slight improvement in its styling and an upgraded infotainment system, which has been well-received by customers, as 17,900 units have already been sold. But surprisingly, even though it is this year’s top seller for Hyundai so far, its individual sales have decreased by 19 percent.
Both the Palisade and Elantra are also doing very well, with each selling over 15,000 units in the first eight months of this year. The Palisade, particularly, is excelling with a 39% increase in sales this year. It seats up to eight passengers and features several technological advancements, making it perfect for both busy families and tech-savvy professionals. Additionally, the Santa Fe has sold over 12,000 units, indicating that sales have increased by 26 percent.
Electric Ioniq Models Impress
When it comes to their electric SUV, the Ioniq 5, the sales have been amazing there, too. Sales have gone up by 61 percent when compared to 2024, with more than 7,000 units sold. The new Ioniq 9 has also been selling within the company’s expectations this year, with over 1,000 units sold. As the Ioniq 5 is so popular and customers are still wary about fully electric vehicles, sales of the Ioniq 9 are not forecasted to hit equivalent numbers of its predecessor just yet.
The Hyundai sedans are not too far behind the SUVs, with the Elantra amassing an extra 6 percent of sales this year. As it is one of the most affordable Hyundais available with a price tag of $22,125, it would appeal to a large number of customers. Even the new Ioniq 6 electric sedan is selling quite well, with over 1,000 units sold so far this year.
A Bright Future As Hyundai Sales Increase
Overall, the time and investment that Hyundai has put into its new line of vehicles is paying off, with more and more customers switching to one of their upgraded vehicles. The future is bright for this Korean company.
