Outstanding New Models for 2022

As 2021 winds down, car manufacturers, dealers, and buyers are looking toward 2022 for the newest models. Many current models have been updated and redesigned for the 2022 year. Here’s a look at what you can expect to see in the next year, and which ones are worth a second look and test drive.

2022 Audi e-tron GT

This model first debuted at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in 2018, but it won’t make an appearance until the summer of 2022. When it does make it to the market, buyers are sure to be impressed with the 469 horsepower created from front and rear electric motors. Amp up the power with launch control, which provides up to 522 horses to reach 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.

Choose the GT model for 637 horsepower when overboost is used. The e-tron GT is unique in another way with a two-speed transmission over the traditional single-speed versions with most electric vehicles. Even with all this power, you can still get up to 238 miles on a single charge.

2022 GMC Hummer EV

GMC is competing in the electric truck category with an all-new model instead of updating a familiar choice. This Hummer EV is fully electric with no other options being offered. You’ll get real capability from this pickup, such as off-roading and towing with a long driving range. The interior is practical with the use of durable materials. The exterior is rugged and functional with a MultiPro tailgate.

Super Cruise takes over the driving on compatible roads while an Infinity Roof adds a fun touch with removable panels as you blaze your own trail. Estimated range is pretty impressive at 350 miles. But the price tag is more than what you’ll pay for a traditional model. The Hummer EV3X is expected to top $100,000 with maximum acceleration at just three seconds.

2022 Kia Carnival

This model is new and not new at the same time. It replaces the minivan 2021 Kia Sedona but isn’t technically called such. Instead, it is a multi-purpose vehicle. However, it still has the sliding rear doors for the minivan convenience. If you look at it from the front, you’re sure to notice the SUV-like design and attitude. This model is loaded with safety technology that you would expect in a family ride with some amenities found on luxury vehicles. For instance, you get available heated and ventilated second-row seats. Power is more like the SUV with a V6, which provides up to 290 horses, making this a great all-around model.

Other models to get excited about

These three models are just a few on the list to debut with the 2022 model year. Auto manufacturers are busy adding many others to their lineup. For instance, you might want to consider the following:

Ford Transit EV – the first electric van from Ford to join the electric pickup and crossover

Hyundai RM19 – this sports model is sure to impress at least 300 horsepower

Lexus LC F – With a possibility of up to 621 horses powering this model, the LC F is guaranteed to provide a thrill

If you’re interested in driving a brand-new addition, one of these new models for 2022 may be the perfect choice. Talk to your local dealer to find out when your preferred model is available for a test drive.
