2023 Cadillac LYRIQ Enters Luxury EV Market With Praise

We’ve reached a turning point in which automakers are breaking away from the custom trademarks that once defined their brands. With EV conversion now at the heart of automotive innovation, we’re starting to see what the future really holds for time-honored and present-day automotive companies. In a way, the threshold into electric production is a true indicator of how automakers will stand the test of time in the modern world. Some will seemingly adapt and evolve. Others will fail to hit the mark. Yet recently, our biases have been taken by surprise with the launch of the all-new 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ.

Cadillac, a hallmark of American manufacturing and known for trailblazing models like the Cadillac Escalade, has struggled to keep up with the competitors it once outsold. According to statistics, less than 7% of luxury cars purchased by Americans are Cadillac models. What’s more, the majority of buyers are of retirement age. Despite the luxury pricing, Cadillac doesn’t grab the appeal of millennial buyers, who typically prefer a vehicle that reflects their personality. Audi and BMW tend to outshine any Cadillac model nowadays.

All things considered, Cadillac is not the top-selling luxury brand it once was. With buyers mostly over the age of 65 and a number of Cadillac drivers being lessees, the automaker has become an aging novelty rather than an apparent innovator into the future. Until now, we weren’t entirely sure Cadillac’s celebrated history could carry it through the emerging EV market. But thanks to the all-new 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ, our faith has been restored in this iconic brand. Dramatics aside, we’re downright happy that electrification can reignite a fanbase. And the LYRIQ is proving to do just that.

Specs and features

The 2023 Cadillac LYRIQ is a mid-size SUV packed with style, class, and state-of-the-art technology. Upon first glimpse, we were immediately stricken by the LYRIQ’s dynamic body shape and lighting detail. In contrast to XT4 and XT5, the LYRIQ delivers a futuristic appeal that will gravitate the likes of modern buyers. Among the list, these are some of our favorite features:

  • 33″ diagonal advanced display
  • Spacious interior with more room for legs, seating, and storage
  • AKG studio 19-speaker audio system
  • Futuristic interior styling with 26-color LED ambient lighting
  • LED slimline headlights

Either Level 2 public and home charging or the DC fast charging public station. The latter offers up to 72 miles of range in only 10 minutes. One of the best features of the LYRIQ is the optional scheduled charging feature. From the touch of your dashboard, you can schedule to charge your EV during off-hours. An all-new Cadillac

Though we’ve been enticed by the CT4-V Blackwing and other performance sedans over the years, nothing has quite shaken up the lineup like the launch of the LYRIQ EV. It perfectly merges futuristic luxury with impressive eco-performance. As a result, the LYRIQ has set the tone for what’s to come and we can’t wait to see more. Cadillac is clearly here to stick around. The LYRIQ has shown us that this former glory can keep up with the movers and shakers of the automotive industry today.
