Alive and Alluring on the Asphalt: 5 Sexiest Cars of All Time

One of the most popular quotes that you can find online rings very true with drivers of all types: “If you don’t look back at your car after you park it, you bought the wrong car”. This says quite a bit about the power of attraction! The sounds, sights, and lavish feel of the interior are all traits that can captivate a driver or onlooker just as intensely as a gorgeous human being. We can all admit that the magnetic pull of chrome and steel on four wheels on some of the sexiest cars ever made can be as appealing as any nice body in a formal dress or 3-piece suit.

With over a century of contenders to choose from, there are numerous cars out there that can muster up a massive sensory experience. Some of the ones listed here are a no-brainer, but a few are all-out surprises. As just as in real life, “opposites attract”! Here are some of the greats from over the years that caught our eye. These have always left us waiting impatiently for our next chance encounter:

The 1963 Lincoln Continental

This is a car with ravishing visual style that was credited with the task of saving the Continental line. It immediately came out with a star-studded impression and size more than a foot shorter than the beefy 1960 model. It lost the XXL fins and sported a Single Carter Two-Barrel Carburetor and gained the 430ci OHV V8 engine. Honored by the Industrial Design Institute with a special bronze medal, this is a car that was over the top yet still subtle enough to draw just the right kind of attention.

The 1963 Chevy Corvette Stingray:

The Corvette is an all-American icon! It evokes so much more than just phenomenal speed and performance. With its split rear window and various hidden lights, it is incredibly easy to develop an attraction to. Some of the visual cues are a bit reminiscent of what Alfa Romeo was doing design-wise a few years later. However, not as typically brawny a ‘Vette stance. This has long been a collector’s dream car. Along with an extensive list of new technologies that the test drivers were blown away by. With drastically improved aerodynamics and wind tunnel testing to assist with design, this car was as romantic as red roses and “I miss you” texts!

The 1967 Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 Stratdale:

From a car line that is notorious for creating delightfully shiny (and powerful!) things, these bragging rights are easy to shower this model with. This release effectively introduced Alfa Romeo’s world-class racing technology to the everyday pavement and looked SO freakin’ good doing so. Designed by seasoned experts Franco Scaglione and brought to gorgeous life by Carrozzeria Marazzi, it was introduced to the world at the Paris Salon de L’Auto. Much like the futuristic charm of the Pan Am terminal built at JFK in the 1960s, its visceral appeal speaks the language of love fluently.

The 2012 Maserati GranTurismo:

Receiving massive honors right off the bat from Edmunds.com for “seductive styling”, the Maserati GranTurismo is also going to be an electric model for 2023. With segment-leading handling and wildly unapologetic elegance, this is a car that tempts each sense time and time again. As a GT car, it displays stellar athletic chops. Not to mention, it comes equipped with a 4.7-liter V8 engine. Author Henrik Fisker recalled how a Maserati passing his family on the Danish highway “looked much like a spaceship”. Consistently fascinating and commanding, this GranTurismo fits everything that is utterly desirable into one lavish package. In our humble opinion, this is one of the sexiest cars to ever grace roadways.

The Jaguar F-Type:

This swanky and seductive car meets every requirement for a stunningly sexy ride! It had a massive facelift in 2021, and the GQ team adamantly billed it as “everything a modern car isn’t supposed to be.” The F-Type also has a double-wishbone front and rear suspension. This allows for the ultimate adjustment for handling and the ride. The flanks of the car feature pop-out handles for ultimate luxury. And every time you drive one, you’re going to experience triumph and exhilaration. The Supercharged V8 goes from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 4.5 seconds. If you happen to select the F-Type in “Caldera Red” paint, be prepared to fight off heaps of desirable gazes and attention!
