Audi RS6 Performance: A Review

Audi is known for luxury cars that appeal to everyone, from gearhead business
people to families who like to drive reliable and high-spec vehicles. Every Audi
vehicle contains an excellent engine, great handling, and, most importantly,
performance-orientated speed. Over the last two decades, they have released
some of the best-performing five-door cars to grace our roads, and the Audi RS6 Performance is no different.

The Audi RS6 Performance is part of the RS Club within Audi. The acronym “RS”stands for RennSport. When translated from German means “racing sport.”

These models are the sports version centered around the standard vehicles
within their line. Other RS models include RS3, RS4, RS5, RS7 and TTRS.

Unlike its predecessors, the RS6 is angrier, wider, and a presence to behold. With most of its exteriors shaped like an Audi A6, its 800mm wider bodywork, stark frown, and lower stance with 22-inch wheels give it its iconic look.

The RS6 Performance differs from its RS6 counterpart; it is sharper and gives an overall more exciting driving experience. It loses some sound installation but
gains 30 horsepower and 37 pound-feet of torque. Let’s take an in-depth look at
the new RS6 Performance.

Under the Hood of the Audi RS6 Performance

Over the years, the RS6 has had a multitude of different engines, but a 4.0-liter
twin-turbocharged V8 engine powers the RS6 Performance with 463 kW. It
contains 621 horsepower and 627 foot pounds of torque. It has a top speed of
280 km/h or 174 mph. This vehicle will complete 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds,
shaving 0.2 seconds off the currently produced model. The RS Dynamic package is standard in all RS models. This RS6 Performance has six dynamic handling systems for drivers: efficiency, comfort, auto, dynamic, RS1 mode, and RS2 modes.

It has permanent four-wheel drive, which means you can use all the speed within the engine you want to (and is legally allowed to do.) The four-wheel drive ensures that the traction works excellently, giving the driver confidence when driving. A new active-rear differential distributes torque between the inside and outside wheel, providing a better flow when driving.  The self-locking center differential is lighter and smaller, which has improved the vehicle’s driving. Due to lower understeering, cornering is more precise. The Audi RS6 Performance also contains real-wheel steering and adaptive suspension.

There is also an upgrade to the RS6 Performance Dynamic package, which
includes a ceramic braking system, customized colored calipers, and different
sizes of discs: 440mm in the front and 370 mm in the rear. This upgrade will also increase the car’s speed from 280 km/h to 305 km/h.

The Exterior of the Audi RS6 Performance

The Audi RS6 Performance comes with a decrease in sound installation, which
will thrill any car enthusiast as the engine can be heard more clearly. This car is
eight kilograms lighter, weighing 2,090kg. It also comes with standard 21-inch
aluminum wheels and 275/35 tires. These tires can be upgraded to 22-inch
wheels that are constructed from aluminum or grey light-weight material. The
lightweight wheel is 5kgs lighter than aluminum, improving the throttle response. The 275/35 tires are also lightweight, which offers a better grip on dry and wet roads and helps to reduce understeering.

This performance car from Audi comes in sixteen different exterior colors with
three colors exclusive to the RS6: metallic and matte Blue, and matte
Silver. Several exterior features, including the exterior mirrors, front spoiler,
and window trim, all come in a matte gray color, making these features stand
out. The iconic Audi logo and model name, usually on the vehicle’s bumper,
comes in two finishes: either chrome or black.

The Interior of the Audi RS6 Performance

Consumers will have a choice of gray, red, and blue accents within the vehicle’s
interior. For example, if a consumer chooses blue, there will be blue contrasting
stitching on the center console, the floor mats, and the selector lever cuff. Along
with the blue accents, the side of the center console and lever cuff are
constructed using Dinamica microfiber. The seating is upholstered using high-
quality leather and contrasting colored stitching.

The interior of this vehicle is as luxurious as Audi enthusiasts expected it to be,
and consumers can add carbon fiber accessories for an extra cost. In true Audi
style, there always has to be a distinguishing feature. In the RS6 Performance,
when you open the front door, an LED light will project the wording “RS
Performance” onto the ground.

This supercar is not only about style and speed; it is practical too. It contains a
boot area that can hold up to 1,680 liters. This makes the Audi RS6 Performance a direct competitor to the Mercedes-AMG E63 Estate.

The Technology Present Within the Audi RS6 Performance

From a technology perspective, the RS6 Performance has a 12.3-inch interactive
screen that offers a range of features, including a shift indicator that gives the
drivers an indication of when it is best or more economical to change gears. It
also contains a Launch Control feature which provides the driver with the best
time to accelerate off the line, exploiting the excellent accelerating potential of
the vehicle.

The Price of the Audi RS6 Performance

Like all sports cars, the Audi RS6 Performance has a high price tag, its starting
price of $126,895, which is higher than the previous RS model. This 2024 RS6 Performance is an exciting and formidable Audi car, but would anyone expect any different from the German automotive engineers?
