Performance

The 2021 Mercedes-AMG C63 comes equipped with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine that packs a powerful punch. With 469 horsepower, the high-performance convertible can reach up to 155mph. The AMG Performance seats are an added bonus with ventilation for comfort. Behind the wheel of the C63 S, you can reach up to 503 horsepower and 180 mph. While convertibles are known to be more weighted compared to the traditional sedans, the drive of a C63 cabriolet leaves a memorable feel.

Safety

Neither IIHS nor NHTSA have specifically tested the Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet, but the C class in general has earned Top Safety Pick+. With the luxury convertible, drivers can expect industry standards, like blind-spot monitoring and forward-collision. Additional features are available as add-ons, including the Driver Assistance package that encompasses automative braking and adaptive cruise control.

How the Mercedes-AMG C63 convertible compares to other luxury models

The Mercedes convertible lineup consists of the C-Class Cabriolet, E-Class Cabriolet, S-Class Cabriolet, AMG GT Roadster, SL-Class Roadster, and SLC Roadster. Backed by German engineering, it’s fair to say that any of these luxury convertibles will be an enjoyable ride. With that said, the Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet is a happy medium between luxury and performance, which is why it earns a spot on our must-drive list.

Although in today’s market an SUV will trump any other vehicle on the road, the convertible is still hanging on. It has ebbed and flowed in popularity throughout the years, but those who love the wind in their hair can look no further. The Mercedes-AMG C63 Cabriolet should be on your list.
