Honda Accord – Over 45 years

One of the first exports into the American market was the Honda Accord, which was introduced in 1976. At that time, it was a hatchback for more efficient driving after the oil crisis of 1973. Since then, the Honda Accord has made an appearance as a coupe, wagon, and most recently as a crossover.

BMW 3 Series – Over 40 years

Readily recognizable as a brand, BMW has been producing luxury sports cars for generations. It was in the 1970s that this German manufacturer introduced the 3-Series. This sedan was a much larger car with an equally large engine. However, BMW had to downsize the model in the 1980s to meet the stricter emission rules.

Volkswagen Golf – Over 45 years

Volkswagen introduced the Golf in 1974 to the American market as a replacement for the immensely popular iconic Beetle. While the Golf started out as a new kind of hatch, this model has been the inspiration for several other models as well, such as the Golf GTI.

Nissan Z – Over 45 years

The Nissan Z isn’t just one model but rather a series of models for sports cars under the Nissan brand. It all started with the Datsun Z, which was introduced in the early 1970s. It was the first Japanese sports car to see success in North America. Since then, it has spawned a long list of Z models, such as the most recent, 370Z.

Toyota Corolla – Over 40 years

Toyota is undoubtedly the best-known car manufacturer in the world, and the Corolla is its flagship model. This model has been around since 1968 when it was a rear-wheel drive two-door coupe. Since then, it has switched to front-wheel drive and been built as both a hatchback and sedan.

Ford Mustang – Over 55 years

As the most well-known Ford car with the best recognized logo, the Ford Mustang is a symbol of the pony car or muscle car. First produced in 1964, the Mustang survived the changes in emissions that came about in the 1970s, unlike many of its competitors. One of the main reasons this car has thrived for over four decades is due to its affordability. The Ford Mustang proves that the average person can own and enjoy a thrilling sports car.

Chevy Corvette – Over 65 years

Another name synonymous with auto manufacturers is Chevrolet. The Corvette is an iconic symbol of American car racing since its inception in 1953. For nearly 70 years, the Vette has been the ultimate dream for many car buyers.

The longest production: Ford F-Series – Over 70 years

No other truck has been the epitome of American culture quite the way the Ford F-Series has been. This series of truck goes all the way back to 1948 with a lightweight pickup. It later divided into two categories with the upper levels being deemed the Super Duty models. Ford continues to evolve the F-Series, with the latest being an all-electric F-150 Lightning.

You can own one of these legends with the latest models still on the road today. Have your own piece of history with an icon like the Toyota Corolla, Ford Mustang, or Nissan Z.
