The Mercedes-Benz EQE First Look

Arriving late 2o22, consumers will finally get a chance to test drive the highly anticipated Mercedes-Benz EQE. Contrary to other competing luxury EVs, this electric sedan hails from one of the oldest automakers on the planet. In fact, Mercedes has well earned its reputation as being the first carmaker to bring an automotive vehicle into production.

And though Mercedes wasn’t the first to bring electric mobility to the lineup, their recent growth in the EV segment is proving to be momentous. With the inclusion of the slightly larger EQS model, the EQE is a clear indication that Mercedes innovation has no limits. Groundbreaking is simply in their DNA.

Not to mention, Mercedes’ long-standing history along with its unrivaled performance-oriented models have given this automaker a distinct level of prestige over the years. And rightfully so. But with changing times comes the need for innovation. Which is where we find ourselves now.

The Mercedes-EQ, the official electric division of the Mercedes family, is just getting started. One thing we can say for certain about the upcoming release of the Mercedes-Benz EQE is that the future is only a short distance away. Buckle up, because this EV is definitely one to consider.

Mercedes-Benz EQEWhat to know about the Mercedes-Benz EQE

As an electrified alternative to the popular E-class segment, the Mercedes-Benz EQE represents a new era of luxury driving. With fast-charging capabilities and up to 300 miles of driving range, this electric sedan is more than just your average entry-level introduction to electric mobility. The German automaker has outdone itself once again in delivering the very best that automotive production has to offer. Whether you fancy interior comfort over performance. Or enjoy advanced car tech and safety. The EQE has it all.

For a starting price of $70,000, this electric model packs a lot of grandeur for the investment. That said, the price point quickly jumps if you opt for the EQE350+ or EQE500 instead. In either of those cases, you’ll end up paying much more for the added performance. Though the exact price is undetermined at this time, we’ll start by taking a look at the EQE350+ performance. Mercedes claims the upgraded trim can generate up to 288 horsepower and an estimated speed of 130 mph. With the EQE500, buyers get a second electric motor and rumored 402 horsepower. All of which are pretty impressive for the start of Mercedes’ fully electric turn.

Key features that make the EQE one of a kind include:

  • AIRMATIC Air Suspension with adaptive damping system and rear-axle steering.
  • DC Fast charging that juices a battery from 10 to 80 percent in 30 minutes time.
  • Driver Assistance with the latest car safety advancements and available HeadsUp Display.
  • “Hey Mercedes” function for easy navigation to and from your destinations.

Upon initially glance, the interior is entirely top-notch. It comes equipped with state-of-the-art car tech, undeniable comfort with perforated seating, and unique design features, like the impressive Hyperscreen. This 56 inch display extends the length of the dashboard and provides three viewing options. Not only that, it creates a real futuristic look in line with other electric competitors.

What’s particularly lovely about the EQE is its roomy interior. Boosting a larger cabin space than the E-class version, things like the panoramic sunroof and ambient interior lighting make the EQE feel more like a lux spaceship versus your everyday vehicle. On any given day, we guarantee you’d like to be a passenger in this quiet and luxurious interior cabin.

As Mercedes proclaims, this model is meant to enjoy with all senses. Here’s why:

When can I buy an EQE?

Now that you’ve gotten a feel for the Mercedes EQ lineup, more specifically the EQE, we know you’re probably eager for more. Luckily, Mercedes is well on its way to releasing more impressive electrified models in 2023, so keep a look out for other anticipated electric models to grace the lineup in the near future. Right now, consumers can expect the EQE to arrive in late fall of 2022.

Mercedes-Benz EQEA gaze into the future

Mercedes-Benz’s EQ segment is growing rapidly. And so far, the lineup is very impressive, to say the least. With the EQS, EQB, and now EQE mid-size sedan arriving at dealerships in the coming months, consumers can now start to look forward to some fresh inventory. After all, it’s been a rather stagnating few years in the automotive industry.

Even though the EV wave is spreading far and wide, Mercedes-Benz isn’t faltered by the competition. The EQE brings most of what drivers demand in an electric model, especially those who want the reliability and luxury of an iconic Benz.

What do you think of the Mercedes-Benz EQE? Do you believe this electric alternative could essentially replace one of the most popular luxury sedan namesakes on the automotive market?
