But if you’re split between buying the Bronco and a separate brand, here are some potential downfalls for this SUV.

  • The body shape of the Bronco creates a limited view over the shoulder and if you remove the doors, the side mirrors are coming with it further reducing the driver’s view.
  • Some off-road enthusiasts say the size of the Bronco is excessive for 4X4 trails.
  • It’s new and stylish paint job is too nice to scratch up. Being larger, expect overhanging branches to possibly damage the exterior paint if you plan on going deep off-road.

  • It is pricey for a first-time vehicle release. Expect to pay a base price of $69k+ for this electric truck.
  • There is a short history behind the newly formed automaker. In a way, buyers take a risk of being one of the first-time owners of an electric truck.
  • No backup gas motor or engine is a problem for some. An all-electric vehicle does mean zero capacity for gas power engines. You rely on the health and charge of your car battery.

What’s Best for Driving into 2021? A Truck or SUV?

There’s no doubt that both of these vehicles are heating up to be popular buys this 2021. SUVs are always a great choice for family drivers and if you have items you transport regularly that you want covered and safe from the outside elements, the Bronco offers the detachable rear cover which is great for popping off on your weekend getaways outside of town.

Electric and hybrid trucks are on the rise in popularity, however, models like the R1T are still in a trial phase when it comes to utility and reliability. For family drivers, the new Ford Bronco is an excellent choice, however, if you wish to go electric with something a little more unique than a Ford comeback vehicle, Rivian is an appealing buy for the driver who wants a combination of tech and rugged durability for the job site or daily highway commute.

    1. god the front end of that rivian is …… that aint it fam

    2. I honestly love the look and the headlights on the Rivian. It was a little odd that the picture was in the middle of the Bronco sections.

    3. The front of the rivian is awful, and in comparison the tesla front ends look attractive.

Unfortunately, the new bronco is underwhelming because of the engine choices. Why not offer a v6 or v8? My ford edge has more towing capability than this thing, which is not a compliment (2000 lbs vs 3500 lbs).

I do have one correction about the mirrors on the bronco. Look at the picture at the very top of this page. You can clearly see the mirrors have a bracket that leads into into the front wind cowling near the wipers. You will have mirrors if you take the doors off.
