Fully Equipped, the 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor Lights Up the Night

I could say a lot of good things about the 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor. For one, its overlanding expertise has only increased exponentially. A ground clearance that competes with a Range Rover, improved suspension, and a smoother, more flexible suspension system all make this pickup truck extraordinaire the rock-and-roller it is.

With all that in mind, I want to home in on one aspect of this small-but-mighty truck in particular.

With the off-road package, the Ford Ranger Tremor ups its game

The off-road package on the Ranger Tremor really does the trick. The package includes a lifted suspension made up of “off-road tuned FOX™ 2.0 monotube dampers and rear piggyback reservoirs,” according to Ford.

Plus, the 32-inch all-season tires really couldn’t get any bigger or badder. Overall, this helps contribute to a 9.7-inch ground clearance (which is 0.8 inches higher than other Ranger models) for ultimate adventure.

Other features for the Tremor include a frame-mounted steel front bash plate and underbody skid plates. There’s also a rear locking differential, a newly updated Terrain Management System™ with four separate modes to represent unique driving conditions, and a recalibrated Trail Control™ system.

Perhaps the most intriguing part of the package (from my perspective, at least) has to do with the lighting. Rigid brand lights sit in the crook between the windshield and the front hood.

What to know about Rigid Lights

In 2020, Ford announced their partnership with Rigid Lights for off-road lighting on a couple of the brand’s pickup trucks (including the Ranger Tremor). The Rigid Ranger Off-Road Light kits can be mounted in two forms: as fog lights or as a hood-hinge mounted light package.

Because of the brand’s close partnership with Ford Performance, it’s as OEM as this kind of thing gets. (Of course, that probably means pricier than you’d pay otherwise, but if that’s the look you’re going for, it’s right on the money.)

For these extra lights, drivers get Rigid D-SS-Series LED lights plus dual black powder coated stainless steel brackets.

For people looking to get off the beaten path as much as possible in 2021 and beyond, these lights will definitely help in your mission. Paired up with a good set of LED headlights on the front and LED tail lights in the rear, the Ford Ranger Tremor off-road package ensures a bright journey ahead.

Despite all the off-road tech tacked onto the truck, it maintains the Ranger’s typical 3,500-pound tow capacity limit.

The innovative pickup truck realm is moving swiftly. Ford has a big investment in the electric pickup truck manufacturer Rivian, which is set to release across North America throughout 2021. Rivian is also taking the company public for increased R&D and growth capital. Since Ford has taken sedans out of their wheelhouse and focused instead of trucks, SUVs, and vans, they seem to have renewed enthusiasm in the market. The Ford Ranger Tremor and all of its fixings are evidence of that.
