Ford Gives American Bronco and Ranger Raptor an Upgrade in Power

Ford has been operational for well over a century and in that time has learned a thing or two about how to produce a quality vehicle that has power and reliability but is also functional in day-to-day life. You will not see Ford releasing supercar after supercar, even though they do dabble every now and again for funsies, but they are the go-to brand for an everyday car with flare.

Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor: Top Choices for Off-Road Enthusiasts

One of the most famous and popular vehicles Ford ever created was the Ford F-150 Raptor in 2010 and since its release, it is known for high-speed and excellent off-roading capabilities. It is now Ford’s top dog in all-terrain performance vehicles. Saying that the Ford Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor are not far behind it, both being excellent choices if you are looking for off-roading options.

Ford has recently made a statement in which they have detailed that the owners of Bronco and Ranger Raptors can avail of an upgrade for their pickups. This upgrade will include a new software calibration from Ford Performance Parts. It could bring both vehicles closer to the Ford F-150 Raptor and its capabilities.

New Software Boosts Ford Bronco and Ranger Raptor Power

The addition of this new software has a massive increase in the horsepower and torque of these vehicles. Both Raptors have a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine, which will now be capable of producing more. The Ranger Raptor will increase its horsepower from 405 to 455 and an even bigger rise in torque from 430 to 536 pound-feet.

Additionally, the Ford Bronco Raptors tune-up will bring their 418 horsepower up to 455 horsepower and their torque from 440 pound-feet to 536. Overall this upgrade will increase both vehicles so that they have similar horsepower and torque in each.

Massive Gains in Horsepower and Torque

Having an increase in horsepower and torque should also decrease their 0-60mph times, with the Ranger Raptor’s new time being 5.3 seconds and the Bronco Raptor’s 5.6 seconds. Ford has also released that this new upgrade package will lead to an optimized throttle response and shift schedule, making the vehicles more economical. To avail of this package, it will cost you an extra $825 which you can purchase online and the upgrade will be installed at a Ford dealership near you. Once the upgrade is added, it is covered by a three-year or 36,000 miles warranty specifically from Ford Performance Parts.

Along with the optional upgrade to increase the power and efficiency of your vehicles, Ford is making the deal even sweeter and is offering a 20% off coupon for drivers who register and attend the Raptor Rally on September 21st. This rally is a day event at the Ford Performance Racing School in Utah. There is a fine print as it costs $500 to attend but there is plenty to do on the day. Ford has planned many off-road drives, a chance to meet and possibly ride along with professional off-road drivers and there are plenty of different workshops to suit everyone.

Upgrade Kit Requires Premium Fuel for Full Power Boost—Here’s What to Know

This kit is similar to the one brought out in 2022 for the Ford Bronco EcoBoost in which it upgraded the SUV’s horsepower by 30 ponies and the torque by 60 pound-feet. An interesting detail about this upgrade is that Ford’s numbers only reach full power with premium fuel. Therefore, if you add normal fuel to your vehicle, the boost this upgrade gave the Bronco EcoBoost was significantly less impressive. Just something to watch out for with this newer upgrade package.

Overview

Overall, Ford will get a good uptake on this performance package as many customers would like to increase the power in these vehicles especially if they use them frequently for off-roading and towing. Ford has always been excellent at producing high-powered vehicles and with this upgrade, the vehicles are even better.
